Jess Spear, Women's Fencing

GET TO KNOW JESS

Hometown: Spofford, New Hampshire

Major/Minors: Sociology/Environmental Studies, Social Justice and Social Policy.

Favorite part of competing for Brandeis: Working for something greater than myself.

Favorite athletic moment: Getting to the second round of competition for the 2020 NCAA Regionals.

Favorite class: Technology and Society with Professor Ed Hackett because it opened my eyes to that field of study.

Favorite place on campus outside of Gosman: Definitely the Library. 100%.

Favorite internship/work opportunity: Working in the Acquisitions Department of the Brandeis Library.

Thing I'll miss most about Brandeis: The people.

Outside of basketball, my favorite thing to do at Brandeis: Study with friends on Farber Mezzanine.

After I graduate, I plan to: Get a Master of Library and Information Science degree. 

My dream job: Cataloging Librarian.

Favorite Song: Killer Queen by Queen.

Favorite Book: Algorithms of Oppression by Safiya Noble.
