Student Spotlight: Jillian Petrie '21

Women’s basketball junior Jillian Petrie of Marlborough, Massachusetts, has been named the November 19th Brandeis Athlete of the Week, presented by The Chateau Restaurant Group.

Petrie was named MVP of the Brandeis Tip-Off Tournament over the weekend, leading the Judges to wins over Nichols, 71-45, and Framingham State, 72-54. She averaged 12 points and three rebounds per game while collecting four steals and three assists. Petrie netted 12 points in both contests, hitting 10-of-22 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range. The 12 points were four shy of her career-best. Petrie added 11 points and five rebounds last night in an 83-63 win at Roger Williams on Tuesday night.

With their most recent win, Brandeis improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2015-16. The Judges will play host to second-ranked Tufts University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
