Emma Bartlett '20 - Volleyball - Sept. 11

WALTHAM, Mass. – Volleyball junior Emma Bartlett of Duxbury, Massachusetts, has been named the September 12 Brandeis Athlete of the Week, presented by The Chateau Restaurant Group. This is the first Brandeis Athlete of the Week honor presented for the 2018-19 season.

Bartlett has helped the Brandeis volleyball team to its best start since the 2012 season, posting a 4-2 mark in their first two tournaments. At the Pacific Coast Classic on August 31 and September 1, Bartlett led Brandeis with 42 kills and a .365 hitting percentage as the Judges went 3-1, with their only loss a five-set match that was decided 17-15 in the fifth against then-top-ranked and defending NCAA Division III champions Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Bartlett again led Brandeis in kills with 21 this past weekend at the New England Invitational, as the Judges went 2-1 on their home court. She also had nine blocks, seven of which were solo. Bartlett is ranked ninth in the University Athletic Association in hitting percentage (.333), 11th in blocks per set (0.78) and 13th in kills per set (2.74).

Brandeis is back in action with a pair of road matches this week, at Tufts on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. and at Endicott on Friday at 5 p.m.
