Senior Spotlight: Willa Moen

Willa Moen

Ashland, Oregon

Women's Track and Field

“Willa can be described with one word: grit,” said track and field assistant coach Jason Sliwoski. “Her level of hard work and determination is what any athlete should aspire to. Growing from ‘new to the sport’ to one of the best hurdlers and combined event athletes in recent history at Brandeis has been an incredibly fun journey to be a part of. The team will certainly miss her at every throws, jumps, and sprints practice.”

This season Willa was among the national leaders in the pentathlon, posting a career-best score of 2545 points. She scored points for the Judges in the 60-meter hurdles and the pole vault at the UAA Indoor Championships this season while recording a career-best in the high jump at the same meet. Those were her first career UAA points. Willa finished 12th in the heptathlon at the Outdoor New England Division III Championships as a junior.
