Zotz named Acting Director of Athletics

WALTHAM, Mass. – Former assistant director of athletics Jim Zotz, a 40-year veteran of Brandeis University, has been named the Acting Director of Athletics. He will serve in the role with Lynne Dempsey having been placed on administrative leave as outlined in a recent letter to campus from University president Ron Liebowitz.

Zotz, who was the Brandeis swimming and diving coach from 1978 through 2010, was promoted to assistant athletic director in charge of sports medicine and strength and conditioning in 2010. In 2016, he was inducted into the Brandeis Athletics Hall of Fame.  Zotz was a two-time New England and University Athletic Coach of the Year who mentored 15 All-Americans, 67 New England champions and 44 Team All-Academic award winners.
