WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University Department of Athletics produced its best finish in two decades with the release of today's final Learfield IMG Director's Cup Standings as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).

The Judges placed 53rd overall, tying for the third-highest finish in the 24-year history of the Directors' Cup. The program's 338.75 points represent Brandeis's highest overall total, with points being earned by each team that qualifies for NCAA Division III postseason play.

Brandeis scored points in each season, led by the women's track and cross country program, which finished sixth in cross country, seventh in indoor track and field and 18th in outdoor track and field.

The Judges also saw women's tennis reach the Sweet 16 of their NCAA tournament, softball reach the regional finals, and women's soccer in the first round.

All eight of the University Athletic Association schools finished in the top 65 of the Directors' Cup standings: Washington University (3rd), Emory (5th), Chicago (9th), Carnegie Mellon (33rd), NYU (34th), Rochester (43rd), Brandeis (53rd) and Case Western Reserve (65th).

The Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
