Jason Byrne is in his 8th year as Assistant Athletic Trainer/Sport Performance Coach. While providing sports medicine care to all Judges athletes, he responsible for year-long periodization schedule of the men’s & women’s soccer programs, and men’s & women’s tennis Programs. Jason also serves as a clinical preceptor for nearby Lasell College’s undergraduate athletic training program.

Prior to arriving in Waltham, Jason spent time in the Baltimore area, working at Johns Hopkins University while attending graduate school at nearby Towson University. At Hopkins, he managed the health care of many Blue Jays teams, including football, women’s basketball, fencing, men’s & women’s tennis, water polo, volleyball, and wrestling. He worked as an Approved Clinical Instructor (ACI) for undergraduate athletic training students from Salisbury and Towson University.

While in Baltimore, Jason also began working with the Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse (MLL). Since returning to the Boston area, he has continued to work in the MLL with the Boston Cannons. In January of 2016, he was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer, in charge of treating, managing and coordinating all aspects of team’s health and well-being.

Jason graduated with a Bachelors of Science in athletic training/sports medicine from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. During his clinical undergraduate work, he had the pleasure to gain valuable experience from a number of programs, including the University of Tennessee football, Yale University football, Quinnipiac University baseball, women’s basketball and men’s soccer.

He is a proud member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association, American Heart Association, Lacrosse Athletic Trainers Society and the Soccer Athletic Trainers Society. Jason is Licensed through the state of Massachusetts Board of Allied Health.

-Kinesiology & Biomechanical considerations towards orthopedic assessment

-Integration of Sport Performance & Sports Medicine

-The influence of Respiratory Mechanics in Movement Variability

-Role of Soft Tissue Therapy in Recovery Techniques

-Physiological Monitoring Techniques (HRV, Blood Biomarkers, GPS, Sleep Quality, Recovery)

-Individualized Supplementation in Athletic Populations
