WALTHAM, Mass.- Brandeis University senior Chris Brown of North Chelmsford, Mass., and junior Kim Farrington of Shirley, Mass., have been selected as University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field honors for the week ending Jan. 22. Brown was selected as the Men's Track Athlete of the Week, while Farrington was honored as Women's Field Athlete of the Week, after competing at the Greater Boston Track Club (GBTC) Invitational at Harvard University on Jan. 22.

Brown finished third in the open mile run with a time of 4:08.45. His time tops the 2012 UAA performance list, places him second on the Division III indoor qualifying list, and was more than three seconds faster than the only other runner in the event from Division I Providence College. This is his second UAA Athlete of the Week honor of the season.

Farrington won the triple jump at the GBTC Invitational. She registered a leap of 10.69 meters (35 feet, 1 inch), 0.35 meters – or more than one foot - better than the next collegiate competitor from Division I Bryant University and 0.04 meters ahead of the unattached second-place jumper. Farrington did not improve on her season-best performance of 10.75 meters (35, 3 ¼ inches), currently ranked third in the UAA and 37th in Division III.
