Judges take third for second-straight tournament at Elms

CHICOPEE, Mass. -- For the second tournament in a row, the Brandeis golf team finished in third place out of nine teams, this time at the Elms College Blazer Invitational. The Judges shot a team score of 320 (+36), one stroke behind Division II Franklin Pierce College and 10 strokes behind Nichols College.

Sophomore Aaron Cusato (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) led the way for the Judges, tying for sixth place with a round of 78 (+7). The other four scorers for the Judges came in within five strokes of Cusato, paced by sophomore Scott Beaulac (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow), who tied for eighth with a 79 (+8), and senior captain Lee Bloom (W. Hartford, Conn./Loomis Chafee) who tied for 13th by carding an 80 (+9). Junior Daniel Goldsmith (Herlizya Pituach, Israel/WBAIS) rounded out the scoring in a tie for 18th with an 83 (+12). Rookie Jerry Yu (Shenzhen, China) was the team's fifth competitor, shooting a 90 (+19) to finish in 29th place.
