Golfers take eighth at RIC

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Brandeis University golf team finished in eighth place out of 12 teams at the Rhode Island College Invitational on Oct. 9. The Judges were just five strokes out of a top-five finish.

Senior Lee Bloom (West Hartford, Conn./Loomis Chaffee) led the way for the Judges. He shot a 79 (+7), his fourth round under 80 of the season. The rest of the squad's scorers were right behind, all finishing within five strokes. Junior Charles Sacks (Phoenix, Ariz./Jess Schwartz) tied for 20th place with a round of 81 (+9), while sophomore Aaron Cusato (San Diego, Calif./Point Loma) fired an 83 (+11) to finish in a tie for 32nd. Junior Daniel Goldsmith (Herlizya Pituach, Israel/WBAIS) rounded out the scorers with an 84 (+12), tied for 36th. Rookie Jerry Yu (Shenzhen, China) was the team's final player, coming in 44th with a score of 86 (+14).
