ATLANTA, Ga. – The Brandeis University baseball team was unable to push across enough runs today as the Judges dropped a pair of contests to Emory University, 8-4 and 5-2, in the Judge' first-ever trip to Atlanta. Brandeis falls to 2-16 on the season, 0-6 in the UAA, Emory improves to 15-15.

In the opener, Brandeis finished with four runs on eight hits, while EU had 8 runs on 16 hits. Six players for the Eagles were multiple hitters, including three each for 1B Bubby Terp and SS Nick Chambers. Terp, pitcher/DG Richard Brereton and CF Michael Edelman each had two RBI.

Brandeis was paced by sophomore RF Dan O'Leary (Lynnfield, Mass./Linfield) who drove in two of the four Judges runs and scored a third. Rookie 2B Mike Khoury (E. Bridgewater, Mass./E. Bridgewater) and LF Donnie Weiss (Swampscott, Mass./St Mary's) each had two hits, while rookie catcher Luke Hall delivered a sacrifice bunt and a double. Brandeis starting pitcher Greg Tobin (Medway, Mass./Central Catholic) went 5.1 innings and allowed 11 hits and six runs (four earned). Brereton earned the win to improve to 4-3, while Christian Bradley became the pitching end of the game.

In the nightcap, the Judges struggled to find the big hit. Despite outhitting the Eagles, 12-8, Brandeis stranded 18 runners on base today. CF Dan Frey (Ipswich, Mass./St. Johns Prep) went 3-5 with an RBI, but it wasn't enough to carry the team. Sophomore Albert Guetirrez (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit Prep) pitched well, working around seven hits to give up five runs, two strikeouts and four walks.

The Judges and Eagles meet tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. for another UAA doubleheader.
