Framingham, MA (Taken from an FSC press release) - The Brandeis
University men's basketball team improved to 5-3 today with a 76-62
victory over the host Framingham State College Rams, who fell to
5-5.
Brandeis used its full-court pressure to force 16 first half
turnovers from the Rams and take a 15-point lead into the half.
Sophomore forward Steve DeLuca (Merrimack, N.H.) led the Judges
with eight points in the first half on 4-of-7 shooting.
In the second half Framingham State turned up its intensity on
defense and 15 second half turnovers from Brandeis as they were
able to pull as close as 11 points with 15:30 remaining. Brandeis
was able to regain momentum and push their lead back up to 23.
Senior guard Kwame Graves-Fulgham (Amherst, Mass.) finished with a
game- and season-high 19 points, including 5-of-6 from 3-point
land, and DeLuca finished with 17 points and 9 rebounds.
The Rams had three players score in double figures. Senior Omar
Almodovar led the way with 16 points including 4-of-6 from beyond
the arc, and Michael Costa and Derek Wigman chipped in with 13
points apiece.
