Basketball teams sweep NYU in New York for first time ever

In 30 years of UAA play, Brandeis basketball has traditionally ended their regular season against NYU, with the teams alternating who hosts the finale. In those 30 years, the Judges had never won both ends of a double-header in the Big Apple – until 2017. Paris Hodges '17 made sure the women held up their end of the bargain by providing half of the team's offense with a career-high 25 points in all 40 minutes of a 50-47 victory in the opener. She also had seven rebounds and five steals, another a career-high, as the Judges took the season-series from NYU for the first time since 2012-13. The men finished their season on a positive note with an 86-80 triumph in the second game, hitting 12-for-23 from 3-point range a week after setting a school record with 17 trifectas. Thousand-point scorer Jordan Cooper '18 led the way with 21 points, while Robinson Vilmont '17 finished two assists shy of a triple-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in his final game.
