Sherman claims UAA Player of the Week honors for the second time

WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University senior Corey Sherman of Penn Valley, Pennsylvania,  has been named University Athletic Association (UAA) Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Sherman was honored for his performance on December 11th at Emerson College. In a 75-72 victory, Sherman scored a team-high 21 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with nine-tenths of a second left on the clock. He finished the game shooting 8-of-18 overall, 3-of-6 from 3-point range and 2-of-2 from the line. He also had three rebounds and an assist while playing all 38 minutes for the Judges.

Under first-year head coach Jean Bain, the Brandeis men are off to a 7-2 start, matching their win total from 2017-18 in just nine games. Sherman leads the team and is tied for seventh in the UAA in scoring at 15.4 points per game. He leads the league in minutes per game (34.6 mpg) and is third in free-throw percentage at 86.5 percent (32-37). Brandeis resume play on December 30th at 2 p.m. at home against Bowdoin College.

Sherman is a 2015 graduate of Lower Merion High School.
