Brandeis Men's Basketball Class of 2023

Brandeis Men's Basketball Class of 2023

WALTHAM, Mass. – Second-year head coach Jean Bain is proud to announce the four newest members of the Brandeis men's basketball roster for the 2019-20 season. The four newcomers are:

Mike Gao – 6-10 – C – Diamond Bar, California (Diamond Bar)

Coach Bain: Mike is skilled with great size. His ability to step out and shoot the ball will help us open up the floor. He will improve our rebounding immensely. I'm looking forward to him contributing right away, because of our lack of size in the frontcourt. He has a bright future in the UAA and down the line will be one of the better posts in the league.

Darret Justice – 6-1 – G – Haymarket, Virginia (Highland School)

Coach Bain: Darret will be one of the most versatile guards in the UAA. His ability to play multiple positions and be effective on both sides of the ball is going to be key for him helping us next year. He can shoot it, he can get to the basket, but his biggest strength as a guard is his ability to make his teammates better.

Dylan Lien – 6-2 – G – Northboro, Massachusetts (Worcester Academy)

Coach Bain: Dylan is a tough hard-nosed guard. He comes from a great local program. His ability to shoot and put the ball on the floor is really going to help us fill the void left by Corey Sherman '19. He's not just an offensive threat, he's great on defense too. Dylan is a great all-around player.

Matan Zucker – 6-5 – F/G – Manalapan, New Jersey (Lawrenceville Prep)

Coach Bain: Matan will add depth to both our frontcourt and backcourt. His ability to put the ball on the floor and rebound from his position will really help us out in transition. When he's playing the 4 or the 5, he can rebound and go. Also, he will allow us to switch a lot on defense. Matan is unselfish and team-oriented. I'm looking forward to getting him in the mix, as he will make us better on offense.
