Adam Mandel, Jess Ochs-Willard, Eric Shen and Kyle Berney took home gold at New Englands and a second-straight bronze at the U.S. Squad championships this weekend.
The men topped BC and MIT, while men's epee added a squad win over Harvard. Before the match, the Judges honored their five seniors before their final home event.
Rookie epeeist Hunter Stusnick won what proved to be the winning bout, breaking a 13-13 tie with the Bears on their home turf. The title is Brandeis's first since 2009.
The Judges' men and women both edged host Air Force by one and defeated CalTech handily, while the women topped Stanford by one. Adam Mandel went 11-2 for the men, Caroline Mattos was 12-2 for the women.
The Judges defeated the Bulldogs convincingly, 17-10, for their first win in the series since 2007. Brandeis also topped Johns Hopkins, but fell to St. Johns and Air Force.
Senior Adam Mandel reached his fourth final and won his second title, as three Brandeis sabre fencers reached the final four. Two Brandeis men's foilists and one women's foil also reached the podium.
