At the 2020 Northeastern Intercollegiate Fencing Conference Championships, Brandeis took home three individual bronze medals and three top-three team placements.
Both the Brandeis men and women defeated the Engineers, 15-12, as part of their annual meet against their local rivals. The Judges fell to Harvard and BC.
The Judges went 1-4 on the day, but nearly knocked off #4 Penn State, 13-14. Ben Rogak went 11-4 for the epee squad, including 3-0 against PSU and North Carolina.
The men went 2-3 with wins over Cornell and Incarnate Word, while the women also defeated UIW. Sophomore Lucas Lin was an impressive 3-0 sabre record in a loss to Harvard.
In addition to the two golds, Ian Quin was second in men's foil, Alexander Holtmann won silver in men's sabre, Maggie Shealy won silver in women's sabre, and Elliott Siegel took bronze in men's foil.
Three incoming members of the men's team and three of the women were honored for their academic success in high school, more than any other NCAA fencing program.
