Jeff Salmon is in his fifth year as an assistant coach for the Judges after success at the club, high school and collegiate levels.

Salmon and his wife (and the Judges’ head coach) Jennie were the founders of the Mission Fencing Center in Rocky Point, New York. He was also the 20-year head coach at Ward-Melville High School on Long Island, leading his teams to 12 consecutive undefeated league and county championships. Salmon was named Suffolk County High School Fencing Coach of the Year nine times, Newsday Long Island Coach of the Year five times, and in 2017 earned the inaugural National High School Coach of the Year award. As the coach at Mission Fencing Center, he coached several national champions in all three weapons, including a two-time U.S. representative at the World Championships. Salmon also has previous collegiate coaching experience as an assistant at Penn State and as a club coach at Stony Brook.

Salmon is also a USA Fencing referee, who has twice refereed NCAA Gold Medal matches and has been on the strip for several USA Fencing, World Cup and World Championship finals. Since 2016, he has served as Vice President of USA Fencing. In 2015, he received that organization’s Jack Baker Volunteer Service Award.
