Atlanta, Georgia -- Emory University Senior Andrew Zalk (Short
Hills, NJ) scored two goals as the 17th-ranked Eagles defeated the
Brandeis Judges 4-0 in a University Athletic Association (UAA)
match-up.
Emory (14-2, 4-1 UAA) took an early lead, scoring two goals in the
first twenty minutes of play. Patrick Carver (Springfield, MO)
started things off in the 16th minute with a shot nearly saved by
Brandeis goalkeeper Taylor Bracken (No. Andover, MA). The Eagles
would not hold back as the second goal came shortly after, scored
by Patrick McFarland (Franklin, TN) who headed a ball past the
diving Bracken.
Brandeis (8-8-2, 0-5 UAA) managed just 4 shots total against a
stingy Eagles defense. Bracken was put to work as he made 9 saves
in the losing effort. Emory tallied two more goals in the last five
minutes from Zalk who sealed the win.
The Judges' next match up will be Sunday November 28th at
Pittsburgh,PA to take on Carnegie Mellon University.
