WALTHAM, Mass. — The Brandeis University men's soccer team won their seventh-straight contest today with relative ease, scoring four first-half goals en route to a 5-1 victory over a shorthanded visiting Lasell College squad. The Judges, ranked second in New England and 12th in Division III by the NSCAA, improve to 7-0 with their sixth-straight home win. Lasell suffers its first blemish, falling to 4-1.

Brandeis was led by senior midfielder Kyle Feather (Pinebrook, N.J./Montville Township), who scored the team's first and last goals. His fifth of the season came in the 11th minute, when he headed home a long throw-in by junior back Foti Andreo (Lynn, Mass./Phillips Exeter). Feather's second of the night and sixth of the season came in the 59th minute off a short corner. He tapped the ball to classmate Ben Applefield (Avon, Conn./Avon), who sent it back Feather. Feather dribbled into the box, executed a nice juke to open space and lofted a ball over a crowd into the upper 90.

It marked Feather's third career multi-goal game, while his six goals tie a career-high set in each of the past two seasons. For his career, he now has 22 goals and 10 assists for 54 points, vaulting into 21st on the Judges' career scoring list.

The Judges had two other performers with three-point nights. Senior Tudor Livadaru (Bronx, N.Y./Riverdale-Kingsbridge Acad.) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 27th minute. After a terrific service into the box by junior Michael Soboff (Framingham, Mass./Newton South) was touched from rookie Evan Jastremski (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield) to Livadaru, the senior chipped it off the hands of the Lasell keeper for his third of the season. In the 43rd minute, he earned an assist on the first career goal by sophomore Michael Chaput (Holliston, Mass./Holliston). Chaput had earlier picked up his first collegiate assist on rookie Mike Lynch's (Weymouth, Mass./Weymouth) first of the season in the 37th minute.

Lasell was played down a man for much of the game, suffering a red card in the 31st minute, and they ended up getting outshot, 24-10. The Lasers did get some offensive pressure late, scoring a goal in the 82nd minute when rookie midfielder Lance Mayo (Cambridge, Mass./Rindge and Latin) knocked the ball home after a scramble in front of the net following a corner kick. The Laser goal snapped a streak of 323 shutout minutes by Brandeis keepers. Lasell's Miguel Colmenares (Doral, Fla./Colegia Claret) made four saves in 78 minutes of work. Brandeis's Joe Graffy (Concord, N.H./Concord) also had four stops for the hosts.

Brandeis returns to action on Saturday afternoon with a non-conference matchup at Tufts University at 1 p.m. Lasell is at Albertus Magnus at 3:15 on Saturday afternoon for a GNAC showdown.
