#3 Brandeis cruises to another victory over longtime rival, Babson 2-0

With today's game against the Babson Beavers, it marked the 62nd time that the Judges have met their longtime rival.  The #3 ranked Judges didn't disappoint as they took the game 2-0 against Babson winning their 8th straight.

 

Chances came early for both teams but were unsuccessful when the shots rang off the crossbar. scored unassisted in the 29th minute.  Despite outshooting the Beavers 10-1 in the first half, the Judges only managed to convert one of their shots when junior Jake Picard (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) took the ball up the field and scored unassisted in the 29th minute.

 

The Beavers were able to up the pressure at the beginning of the second half. The momentum changed at 71:51 in the game. Sophomore Josh Ocel (North Attleboro, Mass./Worcester Acad.) booted the ball,  after being awarded their only corner kick in the half, to Junior Conor Lanahan (Avon, Conn./Avon) who headed it into the back of the net.

 

Senior Brandeis netminder Joe Graffy (Concord, N.H./Concord) saved the only the shot he faced which came in the second half. With Graffy in the net for the Judges this year, they have only given up 2 goals all season.

 

Beavers' goalie Stephen Donato (Morganville, N.J., CBA) faced six shots and saved five of them. The Judges had outshot their opponent 14-2 in the game.

 

The Judges return to action on Tuesday, September 30th at home against Wheaton. The Beavers visit MIT on Saturday, September 27th
