CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Brandeis University men's soccer team suffered just its second loss of the season and their first shutout of the season today as they dropped a 1-0 University Athletic Association decision to the University of Chicago on the road.

With the loss, the Judges fall to 16-2, 4-2 UAA. Chicago improves to 10-5-2, 4-0-2 UAA. The Maroons leapfrog Brandeis into first place in the Association and can clinch the UAA title with a win or a tie next weekend. The Judges can claim a share of the title with a win next weekend at NYU and a UC tie, or earn the crown outright with a win and a Maroon loss to Washington University. If Chicago wins next weekend. A Brandeis win next weekend will also tie the program record for wins in the regular season with 17.

Today in Chicago, Brandeis outshot the home team, 13-5, and earned 12 corners to 0 for the Maroons. The Judges were only able to put two shots on frame, however, and Chicago's Hill Bonin made the stops. The hosts had their only shot on goal in the 76th minute, when Brenton Desai converted a through-ball from Nic Lopez and Jorge Bilbao. Desai struck a leaning left-footed shot from the top left of the box that eluded Judge senior Joe Graffy (Concord, N.H./Concord) and snuck inside the right post.
