WORCESTER, Massachusetts (courtesy WPI sports information) – The WPI and Brandeis men's soccer teams played 110 minutes without a goal Wednesday night at Alumni Stadium.

With the result, the Judges, ranked 10th in the D3soccer.com Top 25 and sixth in the NSCAA regional poll, are now 3-1-1. The Engineers, ranked 10th in the NSCAA Division III New England Coaches Poll, move to 4-0-1.

WPI Junior backstop Connor Hoeckele made a nifty save on sophomore Andrew Allen's (Norfolk, Massachusetts/King Phillip Regional) bid in the 19th minute. With just over 10 minutes until the break, junior Brendan Nemes took aim; however, the ball was batted away by Brandeis junior netminder Ben Woodhouse (Suffield, Connecticut/Suffield).

Freshman Matt Mulligan had open field and dished off to junior Anthony Vigliotta only to have the bid sail high in the 67th. In the 82nd minute, freshman Dylan Hennessey's (New York, New York/Northfield Mount Hermon) attempt was poised to find the top left corner of the net only to see Hoeckele make the acrobatic stop. Vigliotta's header six minutes later was punched up and over the crossbar by Woodhouse.

Hennessey's free kick late in the first OT session was punched away by Hoeckele, who finished with four saves. Woodhouse was called upon to make three stops.

Brandeis hosts Tufts in 10 days on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7pm.

WPI hosts NEWMAC and city foe Clark Saturday in a clash of regionally-ranked teams at 4pm.
