Men's soccer draws 0-0 against Case

 

WALTHAM, Mass - The Brandeis men's soccer team played Case Western Reserve to a scoreless draw this afternoon. The Judges move their record 4-3-3, 0-0-2 in the UAA, while the Spartans are now 4-6-1, 0-1-1 UAA.

 

Junior Ben Woodhouse (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) had four saves behind the net for the Judges, and Spartans keeper Calvin Boyle also had four stops. Boyle made a key save in the second overtime period, reaching to catch a strike from junior Evan Jastremski (Marshfield, Mass./ Marshfield) on a breakaway.

 

The best chance for either side in regulation came in the 24th minute, when consecutive headers from Michael Balog and Jacob Phillips bounced off the top crossbar and back into play.

 

Case Western edged Brandeis in shots, 14-10, while Brandeis had more corner kicks, 7-3.

 

The next game for the Judges is Monday, October 10 at Mass. Maritime Academy.
