CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (info taken from an MIT press release) -- Brandeis University men's soccer senior Devan Casey (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) netted a goal and assisted another as the Judges defeated MIT on the road, 2-1, in a non-conference contest. With the win, the Judges improve to 5-4-1 on the season, while the Engineers fall to 4-4-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Casey gave the Judges the lead in the 37th minute when he ripped a shot into the left side of the goal from the right side of the field late in the opening half.
- In the 65th minute, junior Alex Walter (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) put back a save by MIT keeper Nicholas Jordan to double the Judges' advantage. Casey initiated the attempt when he headed the ball towards the net off a corner kick.
- The Engineers spoiled the shutout bid in the 87th minute when rookie Kaleb Blake registered his second goal of the season.

- MIT held a slim 12-11 advantage in shots, while Brandeis took four corner kicks compared to the Engineers two.
