WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University senior reserve forward Devan Casey of Amherst, New Hampshire, has been selected as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his performance Oct. 1-8.

Casey was involved in all three goals for the Judges in a 2-0 week. In a midweek contest at MIT on Oct. 2, Casey scored the opening goal in the 37th minute on a blast from the top of the 18-yard box. He then assisted the game-winning goal in the 65th minute as the Judges picked up a 2-1 win. On Oct. 6, the Judges traveled to 8th-ranked Carnegie Mellon, and Casey again scored in the 37th minute in a 1-0 victory as Brandeis handed the Tartans their first defeat of the season. The goal was the first game-winner of Casey's career. Overall this season, he has three goals and an assist for seven points, ranking third on the team in scoring.

Brandeis is 6-4-1 this season, 1-0-1 in the UAA. The Judges were ranked fourth in Division III in the preseason and are coming off back-to-back appearances in the NCAA tournament Final Four. Brandeis returns to action on Friday evening at 5 p.m. for a UAA match against the University of Rochester. The Judges will then celebrate Senior Day on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. against Emory. Both of this weekend's opponents reached the Sweet 16 of the 2017 NCAA Division III tournament.
