Nardizzi, Walter named to All-UAA second team

Bryant Nardizzi '20 and Alex Walter '20, All-UAA Men's Soccer Second Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Two members of the Brandeis University men's soccer team have been named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Second Team today. Junior Bryant Nardizzi of Framingham, Massachusetts, was selected at forward, while classmate Alex Walter of Londonderry, New Hampshire, was selected as a defender.

Nardizzi led  the Judges in scoring this season, tallying six goals and three assists for 15 points. He tied for ninth in the UAA in goals scored and was 12th in points. Nardizzi netted two game-winning goals, on Sept. 5 against Springfield College in a 2-0 win, and on Sept. 25, when his goal I the 53rd minute provided a 1-0 win over Wheaton College. Nardizzi also scored twice in the Judges' 8-0 win over Mass. Maritime Academy on Sept. 18. Nardizzi is a transfer from Division I North Carolina-Wilmington.

Walter helped anchor the back line for the Judges, serving as the team's best player heading the ball in the air. He also scored two goals, including a game-winner against MIT on Oct. 2, and a conference goal in a 2-1 loss at the hands of the University of Rochester on Oct. 12. Defensively, Brandeis posted a 1.06 goals-against average and posted seven shutouts in 18 games. Walter was also a second-team All-UAA defender as a sophomore.

The Brandeis men's soccer team finished the 2018 season with a 7-9-2 record, 2-4-1 in the UAA.

Nardizzi is a 2016 graduate of Framingham High School.

Walter is a 2016 graduate of Lawrence Academy.
