HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Brandeis University men's swimming and diving team saw two individual Judge swimmers sweep the freestyle events, but the host Trinity College Bantams won every other race en route to a 159-102 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Leading the way for Brandeis was rookie Brian Luk (Hong Kong/Northfield Mount Hermon), who was responsible for 60 percent of the Judges' wins. Luk captured the freestyle sprints. He opened with a five-second win in the 200 with a time of 1:50.60. He took the 50 free in nearly half a second with a time of 22.60 seconds and wrapped up his day with a second-and-a-half victory in the 100 with a time of 49.24 seconds. 

Completing the Judges's sweep of the freestyle events was sophomore Max Fabian (Keene, N.H./Oak Meadow). Fabian was more than a minute faster than the nearest Bantam in the 1,000 with a time of 10:10.67. He also claimed the 500 in 5:08.06.

Rookie Padraig Murphy (Northampton, Mass./Northampton) turned in two second-place finishes in the 100 butterfly, where he was just 0.21 seconds out of first with a time of 57.41 seconds, and in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.34 seconds.

The Judges return to Linsey Pool next Saturday against WPI at 1 p.m.
