Tamir Zitelny named NEISA Swimmer of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. — Brandeis University first-year swimmer Tamir Zitelny of Syosset, N.Y., has been named the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Male Swimmer of the Week for Oct. 20.

      Zitelny had a terrific first dual meet of his collegiate career against Wheaton College on Oct. 15. He won three events for the Judges in three different disciplines. Zitelny captured the 100-yard backstroke in 53.86, the 100 butterfly in 53.29 and 200 individual medley in 2:21.69. His brother, Judge senior Edan, also contributed a win for Brandeis in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.96.

      The Judges, who lost the meet to Wheaton, 157-131, return to action this weekend at the Rochester Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
