Many Shine on Senior Day as the Judges Host Keene State and Bridgewater State

WALTHAM, Mass. - The Brandeis University men's and women's swimming and diving teams hosted Keene State College and Bridgewater State University on Senior Day for the Judges men's. Senior's Edan Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset), Cameron Braz (Monson, Mass./Monson), and Eb Weber (Murray, Ky./Murray) were honored prior to the start of the tri-meet by head coach, Mike Kotch. The men's team triumphed over both Keene State and Bridgewater State with a win of 141-137 against Keene State and 177-102 against Bridgewater State. The women topped Bridgewater State by a score of 193-95, but fell short to Keene State with a score of 195-97. 

 

TOP PERFORMERS - MEN

  • Freshman Tamir Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) had an outstanding meet with three individual first place finishes in the 200 yard butterfly (1:57.45), 200 yard backstroke (2:01.14), and 100 yard butterfly (53.37).
  • Freshman Noah Ayers (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines) collected a first a second place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle, respectively. He swam a time of 10:43.09 in the 1000 yard freestyle and 5:08.04 in the 500 yard freestyle.
  • Senior Cameron Braz finished first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.05. He also logged two second place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle (1:50.30) and 100 yard freestyle (50.68).
  • Senior Edan Zitelny finished second in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 56.19.
  • In the final event of the meet, the men's 200 yard freestyle relay team of Edan Zitelny, Taku Harada (Henrico, Va./Mills E. Godwin), Daniel Haid (Robbins, N.C./International School of Lausanne), and Cameron Braz finished first with a time of 1:31.15.
  • The men's 400 yard medley relay team of Tamir Zitelny, Jake Avery (Harwich Port, Mass./Nauset Regional), Eb Weber, and Taku Harada finished second with a time of 3:41.29.

 

TOP PERFORMERS - WOMEN

  • Freshman Natalya Wozab (Plantation, Fla./Saint Thomas Aquinas) swam her way to three individual first place finishes in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:12.73), 200 yard breaststroke (2:37.89), and 200 yard IM (2:22.28).
  • Sophomore Kylie Herman (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) logged a pair of second place finishes in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:08.66) and 500 yard freestyle (5:28.22).
  • Freshman Hwanhee Park (Cumberland, Me./Greely) finished second in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:09.19.
  • Freshman Yvette Smith (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville) finished second in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 58.16.
  • The women's 400 yard medley relay team of Philippa Zheku (Woburn, Mass./Woburn Memorial), Natalya Wozab, Hwanhee Park, and Yvette Smith finished second with a time of 4:20.20.
  • The women's 200 yard freestyle relay team of Kylie Herman, Amy Sheinhait (Framingham, Mass./Franmingham), Abby Damsky (New York, N.Y./The Brearley School), and Yvette Smith finished second with a time of 1:47.10.

  • The men's and women's teams travel to Worcester, Mass. on Saturday January 28th to take on Clark University.
