Men's swimming downs Clark, 182-91

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University swimming and diving teams won 21 of 32 events today as the Judges swept Clark University in their senior day meet. The men were 182-91 victors, while the women took a 153-116 decision. The men improve to 6-5 with their fourth-straight win while the women improve to 6-8.

Leading the way for the women were their two seniors, Sabrina Greer (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro CDS) and Kylie Herman (Weston, Fla./Cypress Hill). Herman earned a pair of wins, taking the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:04.26 and the 500 with a time of 5:34.69. She also placed fourth in the 100 individual medley in 1:07.29. Greer was second in the 100 backstroke with a season-best time of 1:10.20, while her time of 31.51 seconds in the 50 butterfly represented a career-best and was good for third place.

Greer also contributed to the winning 200 medley relay that opened the meet with a time of 1:58.17, while both seniors were in their final home race, the winning 200 free relay that turned in a time of 1:48.32.

On the men's side, rookie Benton Ferebee (Germantown, TN / Memphis University School) had a fine all-around performance. He won the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.47 seconds and took first place in the 50 with a time of 27.63 seconds. He also led off the winning 200-medley team that posted a time of 1:39.38. Another notable performance came from sophomore Daniel Wohl (Chapel Hill, N.C./Chapel Hill East), who won the 50 free (21.85), the 500 free (4:46.82) and the 50 breaststroke (27.50) while leading off the 200 free relay that won with a time of 1:33.27.

The Judges are back in action next weekend when they travel to the University of Chicago for the University Athletic Association championships.
