Gold sets meet 200 fly record vs Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. – In their annual meet with cross-town rivals Bentley University, the Brandeis swimming and diving teams dropped a pair of road decisions to the Falcons. The men fell by a 185-103 score, while the women were downed, 205-79. The Brandeis men are now 2-3 on the season, while the women fall to 2-5.

The Judges won three individual races tonight. For the men, senior Tamir Zitelny (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) captured the 100-yard backstroke in 54.51 seconds, winning by 0.41 seconds.

On the women's side, rookie Bailey Gold (Berkeley Heights, N.J. / Governor Livingston) continued her fantastic season with a pair of victories. She took the 200-yard butterfly in 2:10.04, lowering the meet record that had stood since 2009 by 0.16 seconds. Gold also touched first in the 100 fly, breaking the one-minute mark with a time of 59.82 seconds.

The Judges return to action at 1 PM local time tomorrow against Colby College at home.
