Men's tennis downs Bentley, 8-1, in first dual match of fall season

WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Brandeis men's tennis team opened its fall campaign with a convincing 8-1 win over cross-town rival Bentley College today. The Judges were paced at the top of the lineup by sophomore Steve Nieman (Forest Hills, N.Y.), who won 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 at No. 1 singles and teamed with rookie Mike Tatarsky (Wayne, N.J.) for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Senior captain Scott Schulman (Wethersfield, Conn.) had the quickest singles match at No. 3 with a 6-0, 6-3, victory, while sophomore Simon Miller (Plantation, Fla.) was a 6-2, 6-1, winner at No. 2.
