WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Brandeis men's tennis team evened its record at 6-6 today with a 6-3 home victory over cross-town rival Bentley University.

Brandeis was paced by a pair of double winners.

Rookie Mitch Krems (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Century Acad.) teamed with sophomore Alec Siegel (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles over Jimmy Rindo and Raghav Tanna. Krems also defeated Rindo, 6-2, 6-2, in the quickest of the six singles matches at No. 2.

Senior David Yovanoff (Eden, N.Y./Eden) paired with rookie Danny Lubarsky (Cleveland, Ohio/Hawken School) at No. 3 doubles for a marathon 9-8 victory over Andrew Waddington and Lucas Wever of the Falcons. The tiebreaker went 16 points before the Judges won, 9-7. Yovanoff then took out Waddington again, 6-3, 6-4.

Brandeis's other two points came at No. 1 singles, where senior Steven Milo (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) defeated Rodrigo Ribeiro, 6-2, 7-5, and at No. 5, where sophomore Michael Secular (Bronx, N.Y./Plant, Fla.) won when Tanna retired despite owning a 6-4, 3-2 lead.
