WALTHAM, Mass. – In its first head-to-head matchup of the season, the Brandeis University men's tennis team dominated Colby-Sawyer College 8-1.

Brandeis got off to a strong start cruising to 8-2 victories in the No. 1, 2, and 3 doubles matches. Junior Danny Lubarsky (Cleveland, Ohio/Hawken School) and sophomore Brian Granoff (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) led the charge with their convincing win at No. 1 over Cass McCann and Myles Utell.

In singles action, the Judges finished with four straight-set matches to clinch the 2014-15 opener. It was an all-around strong effort with the only loss coming in the No. 2 matchup as Ryan Bunis (Groton, Mass./Groton-Dunstable) ultimately fell after fighting back to force a tiebreaking third set. Looking to improve on his solid rookie season, Michael Arguello (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood) took care of business at No. 1 with a straight-set 6-4, 6-1 win. Senior co-captain Ben Fine (Providence, R.I./Moses Brown School) had no problem in his No. 6 matchup disposing of his opponent while losing just two games, 6-2, 6-0.

The Judges return to action on September 26 to compete in the ITA Regionals in Middlebury, Vt.
