WALTHAM, Mass. – The 2018 season will continue a while longer for two members of the Brandeis University men's tennis team, as sophomore David Aizenberg (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) and rookie Anupreeth Coramutla (Monroe Township, N.J./Phillips Andover) have been selected to compete at the NCAA Division III Doubles tournament, which will be held May 24-26 in Claremont, California, on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.

"[Aizenberg and Coramutla] are so fun to watch because they know their doubles tactic so well," said Brandeis head coach Ben Lamanna, in his 14th year at the Judges' helm. "They had the best fall season of any doubles team in recent memory with two titles, and now we're headed out to California in search of a third. It will be a lot of fun, and I know the guys are pumped."

Aizenberg and Coramutla, the Judges' No. 1 tandem, were ranked fourth in the Northeast Region in the most recent NCAA Regional Rankings to earn one of 16 slots in the tournament. The pair were 25-6 overall in 2017-18, including 13-5 in dual matches and 12-1 during the fall tournament season. They won tournaments at Bates and MIT and were runners-up at Middlebury. Four of their six losses this season came to other NCAA tournament duos, with another coming to one-half of a qualifying tandem.

Aizenberg and Coramutla are the first Brandeis men's tennis players to reach the NCAA tournament since 2014 when Brian Granoff '17 made the singles draw. They are the first men selected to the doubles tournament since 1989 when Noel Occomy '89 and Ian Murray '89 won two matches to reach the quarterfinals in a 32-team draw. The Brandeis women more recently had a doubles team in 2013, when Carley Cooke '14 and Faith Broderick '13 were selected.

The draw for the NCAA Division III Doubles tournament will take place on May 23.
