#10 men's tennis defeats #22 Tufts, 7-2

The Brandeis University men's tennis team ranked #10 defeated #22 ranked Tufts University 7-2, at the Natick Racquet Club. The Judges improve to 6-1, while the Jumbos fall to 0-1.

In doubles action, the Judges started off strong at No. 1 and No. 2, earning two victories as duos of junior David Aizenberg (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) and sophomore Anupreeth Coramutla (Monroe Township, N.J./Phillips Andover) won by a score of 8-6, while rookie Jeffrey Chen (Northfield, Ill. / New Trier) and rookie Adam Tzeng (Eagle, Idaho/Eagle) won by a score of 8-6. At No. 3 the Judges duo of rookie Colt Tegtmeier (Madison, Wisc. / James Madison Memorial) and senior Tyler Ng (Great Neck, N.Y. / Great Neck South) were edged by a score of 7-8.

It was in singles action where the Judges dominated, winning five out of the six matches. Aizenberg dropped the first match, 3-6, 2-6, at No. 1. The Judges would respond at No. 2 as Coramutla sealed the victory earning a score of 6-2, 6-3. Tzeng earned a 6-1, 6-2, win at No. 3, while sophomore Nikhil Das (Smithfield, R.I. / Moses Brown School) won by a score of 6-2, 6-0, at No 4. Chen earned a 6-1, 6-3, victory at No. 5, while Vohra closed it out at No. 6 in three sets by scores of 6-3, 3-6, 14-12.

The Judges are back in action Friday against Rensselaer at 6:00 p.m.
