#10 men's tennis sweeps in singles for the second straight time in a 8-1 win over Babson

The Brandeis University men's tennis team ranked #10 swept singles action for the second straight match as they defeated Babson 8-1, at home today. With the win, the Judges improve to 10-2, while the Beavers fall to 6-3.

In doubles action, the Judges came out strong as No. 2 duo of rookie Jeffrey Chen (Northfield, Ill. / New Trier) and rookie Adam Tzeng (Eagle, Idaho/Eagle) bageled Babson winning the match 8-0. At No. 1 sophomore Anupreeth Coramutla (Monroe Township, N.J./Phillips Andover) and junior David Aizenberg (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) followed suit with an 8-2 victory. The Judges fell just short of a doubles sweep, as rookie Colt Tegtmeier (Madison, Wisc. / James Madison Memorial) and senior Tyler Ng (Great Neck, N.Y. / Great Neck South) fell at No. 3, losing 6-8.

The Judges were impressive once again in singles action, as they swept the Beavers in straight sets. Senior Ng got things going at No. 6 holding his opponent at love to win the match, 6-0, 6-0. At No. 3 rookie Tzeng claimed a, 6-2, 6-0 victory, while at No. 2 sophomore Coramutla earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Sophomore Nikhil Das (Smithfield, R.I. / Moses Brown School) kept things rolling for the Judges at No. 4 with a 6-3, 6-1, victory, while at No. 5 sophomore Rajan Vohra (Glen Head, N.Y. / North Shore) won the first set, 7-5, led the second set 2-0, and ultimately won the match by retirement. To close things out at No. 1 junior Aizenberg earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory to complete the sweep for the Judges.

The Judges will look to keep up the success as they will host a doubleheader on Sunday against Wheaton College at 10:00 a.m. and Endicott College at 2:00 p.m.
