Tzeng named UAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. –  Brandeis University men's tennis senior Adam Tzeng of Eagle, Idaho, has been name the University Athletic Association Player of the Week for the week ending March 6.  

Tzeng, who was honored for the first time this season and the third time overall in his career, helped the Judges win their only match of the week in come-from-behind fashion. Playing at Skidmore College on March 6, Tzeng and doubles partner Jeffrey Chen of Northfield, Illinois, earned Brandeis's first point of the day with an 8-4 win at the #1 spot. Skidmore won the remaining two doubles matches and two of the first three in singles to take a 4-2 lead. After Brandeis earned a win at #5 singles, Tzeng pulled a comeback at #1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, to tie the match at 4-4. Junior Simon Kauppila of Chesterfield, Missouri, earned the match's final win at #6 to give the Judges the 5-4 victory. Tzeng is now 3-3 this season at #1 singles for the Judges, while posting a 5-2 record in doubles. He and Chen were Division III All-Americans in 2021, when they reached the championship match of NCAA Doubles tournament.

With the win, Brandeis improved to 5-2 on the season. The Judges play at home against Colby College this Sunday, March 13, at 10 a.m.

Tzeng is a 2018 graduate of Eagle Hill High School.
