MARIETTA, Ohio -- Brandeis University sophomore Paul Norton (Amherst, Mass./Amherst) just missed his first career All-America honor today, finishing in 12th place in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field championships at Marietta College.
Norton, seeded 15th headed into the meet with a qualifying time of 30:31.82, improved on that by three spots. His 12th-place time of 31:52.55 was the third-fastest by a sophomore in the race. Norton missed All-America honors with a top-eight finish by 18 seconds. William Kaul of Wisconsin-Osh Kosh won the event with a time of 30:54.56.
