WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University senior Chris Brown of North Chelmsford, Mass., has been named University Athletic Association men's track and field Runner of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Competing last weekend at Princeton University's Larry Ellis Invitational, Brown turned in just the third sub-3:50 time in NCAA Division III this season in the 1,500-meter run. In a field of mostly Division I athletes, Brown ran 3:47.94 to win his heat and place 19th overall.

Brown, an All-American in the mile run at the 2012 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field championships back in March, now boasts the second-fastest time in the UAA and third-fastest in Division III in the 1,500. At this weekend's UAA championship, which will be held at Carnegie Mellon University, he will face NYU senior Matt Turlip, who ran a time of 3:46.81 earlier this season. Brown defeated Turlip for the UAA title in the mile run indoors by nearly three seconds. Brown is also ranked 18th nationally in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.13, run on April 7 in his backyard at UMass Lowell's George Davis Invitational.

Brown is a 2008 graduate of Chelmsford High School. He is the son of James and Susan Brown, No. Chelmsford, Mass.
