Kramer headed to NCAA championships

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Brandeis University senior Alex Kramer of North Andover, Mass., will represent the Judges at the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships. Kramer will compete in the mile run March 8 and 9 at North Central College in Napierville, Ill.

Kramer will be making his first appearance at an NCAA championships. Kramer ran a season- and lifetime-best time of 4:12.66 this past weekend at the Tufts University Last Chance Meet, the 14th-fastest in Division III this seaso. After several other qualifiers opted to participate in different events, Kramer enters the meet as the ninth seed. He will be one of five runners from New England entered in the mile. Earlier this season, Kramer won the University Athletic Association title in the mile run and placed third at the New England Division III championships. 

Kramer is looking to become Brandeis's second-straight All-American in the mile run. Chris Brown '12 placed third in the mile last year. Kramer will run in the preliminaries at 4:55 p.m. Eastern Time/3:55 Central on Friday, March 8. The finals will be held at 2:30 p.m. Eastern/1:30 Central on Saturday, March 9.
