CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Brandeis track and field team sent five runners to the 2015 Open New England Championships at MIT this past weekend.

The Judges were paced by junior Kelsey Whitaker (Kingston, Mass./Notre Dame Acad.) in the 1,500-meter run. Whitaker had a season-best run with a time of 4:37.30, which was good for 10th place, two spots out of All-New England honors. Second amond Division III runners, she was about a second-and-a-half out of a Top Eight placement. The time was 39th-best in Division III this season, still about three second out of a spot at the NCAA Championships. Whitaker will have one last chance to qualify at ECACs this weekend.

Also running in the 1,500 for the Judges was senior Kristi Pisarik (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford). In her next-to-last collegiate race, Pisarik placed 26th with a time of 4:46.81. It was just off her lifetime best set two weeks prior at the UAA Championships. She was seventh among Division III runners.
