CHURCHILL PERRY TAKES HOME UAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS

WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis sophomore Churchill Perry of Pembroke Pines, Florida has earned University Athletic Association Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors for the week ending April 14th.

This past weekend Perry captured the triple jump at the Amherst College Spring Fling. His leap of 13.99 meters marked his outdoor collegiate best and ranks 17th in NCAA Division III this season. Perry's performance qualifies him for the Division III New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships as well as the Division III ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This ranking would also qualify Perry for the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships if maintained through the end of the season as, the top 20 nationally qualify.  At the meet this past weekend Perry also competed on the track in the individual 400 meters placing 5th with a time of 52.05

Perry has an all-conditions personal best from this past indoor season of 14.24 meters, which he achieved when capturing the Indoor UAA conference title. In the 400m Perry has a personal best of 49.54 seconds, also from this past indoor season.  Other than these two events, Perry competes in the 200m as well as contributes as a member on the team's 4x400m relay. The Judges, including Perry, will compete next at the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College on April 13th and 14th.
