Nick Athanasopoulos joined the Brandeis track and cross country staff in the summer of 2019, focusing on long sprinters, hurdlers and horizontal jumpers.

Athanasopoulos spent the previous four years at Keene State College in New Hampshire, helping the Owls establish 11 new school records in his time there. KSC also won 16 individual and relay titles in the Little East conference in that span. He helped with recruiting and meet management and spent one year as a compliance assistant for the Owls. 

Athanasopoulos also spent a year as the track and field coach at Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey, New Hampshire, after serving as a volunteer assistant at the school. 

Athanasopoulos is a 2018 graduate of Cornell University, graduating with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies. As a rookie, he set a Big Red record for decathlon scoring by a freshman.
