No. 21 men's cross country places third at Conn. College

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Brandeis men's cross country team, ranked No. 21 in the nation, rested a couple of their top runners this weekend, as the Judges finished in third place out of 16 teams at the Connecticut College Invitational.

The Judges were paced by sophomore Chris Brown (No. Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford), who finished in fourth place overall with a time of 25:32 over the 8,000-kilometer course. Classmate Marc Boutin (Westford, Mass./Westford Acad.) was just six seconds behind in eighth place with a time of 25:38. Junior Devon Holgate (Cumberland, R.I./Cumberland) also cracked the top 20, coming in 14th with a time of 25:54. Classmate Dan Anastos (Peabody, Mass./Peabody Veterans) was 35th in 26:28, while junior Ryan Cheng (New Milford, Conn./New Milford) rounded out the scorers with a time of 26:55, good for 55th place overall.

The Judges are off next week and return to action on Oct. 10 at Franklin Park in Boston for the Open New England championships.
