BOSTON, Mass. -- Brandeis University senior Ed Colvin (Roslindale, Mass./Catholic Memorial School) established a new course record today to lead the Judges men's cross country team to victory at Emmanuel College's Fens Classic. Colvin covered the 5K course in 16:04, 12 seconds ahead of junior teammate Jarret Harrigan (Ipswich, Mass./St. John's Prep), who ran 16:16, as the Judges took the top two spots in the 63-man field.

In addition to the two upperclassmen leading the race, Brandeis put two rookies in the top 10 as well. Daniel Leon (New York, N.Y./Bronx H.S. of Science) and Matt Doran (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) crossed the finish line in ninth and 10th place, respectively, within a second of each other in 17:04 and 17:05. Junior Michael Rosenbach (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Prep) closed out the scorers in 14th place with a time of 17:16, while sophomore Liban Aden (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) was the Judges' sixth and final runner in 36th place (18:04).

Brandeis outpaced a second-place tie between UMass Dartmouth and Wheaton College by 32 points, 36 to 68. Host Emmanuel was fourth with 85 points.

The Judges return to action on Sept. 21 at the UMass Dartmouth Shriner's Classic.
