DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The Brandeis University men's cross country team had a pair of top-25 performances from junior Jarret Harrigan (Ipswich, Mass./St. Johns Prep) and rookie Quinton Hoey (Watertown, Mass./Watertown) as they finished in sixth place out of 28 teams at the 2013 UMass Dartmouth Corsair Invitational on Sept. 21.

Harrigan and Hoey were neck-and-neck, finishing less than a second apart in 21st and 22nd place, respectively, with times of 26:21.87 and 26:22.13. It was the top collegiate cross country performance for both runners in an 8K race. Harrigan had finished a 5K race in second place in the Judges' opening race of the season.

Junior Michael Rosenbach (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Prep) was the team's third runner with a time of 26:59.62, good for 33rd place overall. Rookie Matt Doran (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) wasn't far behind Rosenback in 41st place with a time of 27:16.66. Classmate Daniel Leon (New York, N.Y. / Bronx H.S. of Science) rounded out the Judges' scorers in 108th place and time of 29:02.62.

Despite competing without senior Ed Colvin (Roslindale, Mass./Catholic Memorial School), the Judges finished in sixth place, and third among Division III schools with 213 points. They were just ahead of the host UMass Dartmouth, who had 233, but came in 63 points behind Division II Assumption College in fifth.

The Judges return to action at Keene State College on Oct. 5.
