KEENE, N.H. -- In men's cross country action, Brandeis had five of the top 20 runners to finish in second place in an 11-team field at the Keene State Invitational. The Judges' 58 points were second only to the hosts' 24 and were 10 clear of second-place Southern Maine.

For the second week in a row, the duo of junior Jarret Harrigan (Ipswich, Mass./St. John's Prep) and rookie Quinton Hoey (Watertown, Mass./Watertown) were the top two runners for the Judges. Harrigan was the Judges' top finisher for the second meet in a row, finishing sixth overall out of 113 runners with a time of 27:04 over the five-mile course. It was his second top-10 finish of the season. Harrigan was less than 10 seconds behind the third-place finisher from USM. Hoey narrowly missed his first collegiate top-10 finish with a time of 27:27 to place 11^th, just four seconds out of 10^th overall. Junior Michael Rosenbach (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Prep) was the team's third runner for the second meet in a row, finishing 17^th with a time of 27:42.

Rounding out the scoring with finishes just five seconds apart were rookie Matt Doran (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) and sophomore Grady Ward (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex), who were 17^th and 19^th with times of 27:56 and 28:01. Sophomore Liban Aden (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) was 29^th with a time of 28:57, while rookie Daniel Leon (New York, N.Y./Bronx Science) was 49^th in 29:55.

The Judges return to action next weekend on Oct. 12 at the Open New England championships in Franklin Park.
