WATERFORD, Conn. -- The Brandeis University men's cross country team finished in 10th place out of 21 teams today at the Connecticut College Invitational hosted at Harkness Memorial State Park. 

The Judges were led by rookie Quinton Hoey (Watertown, Conn./Watertown), who became the third different runner to be Brandeis's top performer in four meets this season. Hoey covered the eight-kilometer course in 26:27, good for 32nd out of 248 runners. Hoey had been Brandeis's second runner in the previous two meets after missing the team's opener. His time was five seconds off his previous collegiate best race at 8K. 

Just behind Hoey was junior Jarret Harrigan (Ipswich, Mass./St. John's Prep.) who came in first for the Judges in their previous two races. Harrigan was just behind his teammate with a time of 26:30, placing him 35th overall. Classmate Michael Rosenbach (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Prep.) was also just off of Hoey's pace, coming in 42nd, just six seconds behind Harrigan with a time of 26:36. Sophomore Grady Ward (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex) had his top placement on the team of the season, coming fourth on the Judges and 67th overall with a time of 26:57. Rounding out the scoring performances was sophomore Liban Aden (Brockton, Mass./Brockton), who was 154th with a time of 28:26. Rookie Daniel Leon (New York, N.Y./Bronx H.S. of Science)  was the team's final runner, coming in 182nd in 29:05. 

Brandeis's 291 points were 12 ahead of Keene State and 32 points behind Ramapo for ninth. he Judges are off for two weeks until they compete at the UAA Championships at Carnegie Mellon on Nov. 2.
